Bay Head is one of the most elegant spots on the Jersey Shore. Beautiful Victorian & Colonial oceanfront estates give Bay Head a different than its shore neighbors. The town grew as a resort for vacationing NYC residents because of the direct rail link into the City. This allows you to avoid driving in traffic when you come south to your beach retreat. An exclusive escape for those who can afford the best.
Classic Jersey Shore living on the Barnegat Barrier island. Lavallette is a family oriented town just 8/10 of a square mile with gorgeous views east and west. Never more than a 1/2 mile from the ocean to the bay, Lavallette is perfect for every type of seashore activity from swimming, surfing, boating, fishing and crabbing as well as simply riding your bike or walking along the boardwalk or Bayside. New Jersey Magazine ranked Lavallette in it's Top 10 Places to Live in New Jersey. Those with Waterfront Homes may argue that Lavallette is THE best place to live in New Jersey. The condiitons of the homes and access to the water make Lavallette a wonderful place to get a waterfront home. Peace and quiet on the island, the perfect place to relax and vacation. Plus some lovely places to shop and dine. Everything you need for a peaceful summer vacation!
Mantoloking is still one of the hidden gems of the Jersey Shore. Neighboring Bay Head gets all the attention for it's Victorian and Colonial homes and sprawling oceanfront estates. These are just as indicative of Mantoloking, some of the finest homes on the Barnegat Barrier Island. A short stroll from beach to bay and an upscale environment make Mantoloking THE next place to be at the Shore, a family resort with summer rentals, miniature golf, restaurants and all possible seaside activities on the bay or the ocean.
Normandy Beach is a lovely spot at the shore, known to locals but not as well known as most of its shore neighbors. It is has all the classic elements one could want in a Jersey Shore vacation spot. In addition to the ocean Normandy extends into the Barnegat Bay providing a great opportunity for sailing and boating centered around the Normandy Beach Yacht Club. As it is an area and not a township, Normandy Beach includes the barrier island parts of Brick, Toms River and even parts of South Mantoloking.
Ortley Beach is the part of the newly renamed Toms River Township on the east side of the Barnegat Bay. Ortley Beach is another classic Jersey Shore town offering ocean and bayfront with the associated activities, Seaside Heights to the south (they share a zip code) and Lavallette to the north. Families have been spending their summers in Ortley or making day trips for generations. It has everything a family might want from a Jersey Shore vacation spot.
Seaside Heights is the home of Sun and Fun and has been a leading tourist attraction since 1913. Traditionally a place to bring your family for any period of time from a day trip to a summer-long stay. A beautiful beach and bayfront along with a very active boardwalk and all the night spots on the Boulevard make the Heights the place to come for any kind of summer activity. In recent years many upscale ($750,000 to $ 1 million plus) condos have been built (and are being built) which is changing the nature of the town. An example of this is the coordinated New Orleans style that has become the theme for the boulevard, pavers replaced cement sidewalks, more trees have been planted and everything has been done to improve the appearance of the Boro. If you haven't been to Seaside in a while, come on down, you won't recognize it.
Seaside Park is another classic Jersey Shore family vacation spot. This is an ideal place to summer. To your north you have the Funtown Pier, Seaside Heights and all of the associated amusement rides, arcades and games of chance and nightlife. To the south you have the beautiful unspoiled Island Beach State Park. A perfect place to swim, surf, boat, fish, crab, kayak or jet-ski. The boardwalk is one of the best walking paths along the entire shore.
